A former leading fashion model at 5'10'' in height, Carey was popular with the top American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was the world-renowned geologist, who in 1979 was named Scientist of the Year in 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey has traveled across the globe due to his profession.
